Back in July 2007 the publisher came asking for the key visual for Perry Rhodan - the Adventure, that could show the quality of the game at the international Games Convention in Leipzig. For us it meant a rush hour
we had only 48 hrs to finish it.
The problem: we had a lack of finished in game material that could be used during the creation of the key visual. Only a few characters have been built to that moment, and all the key characters were still stuck in the long-winded negotiation phase with the publisher. That's why we had to invent a language of visuals which could reflect the missing main characters.
Igor has built a set of grayscale elements for Perry and the flagship. I've made skin textures for the characters, and concealed the unfinished parts under shadows. Within 2 days our key visual was born, and it remained the guiding light until the end of production.
